Hello, I’m Kevi Keenom, a 2011 master’s program graduate of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) and am currently completing OCOM’s Chinese Medicine doctoral program. I’ve interned in two Nanjing hospitals under acupuncture and herbal medicine doctors, at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2011 for a month, and another two weeks in 2018, at Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. In addition to acupuncture, I prescribe Chinese herbal formulas that can stand alone in their healing-hastening effects, I do medical massage (Tuina) and use various techniques including electro-stimulation acupuncture, fire-cupping and Guasha as well. Pediatric acupuncture treatments I’ll do with or without tiny needles, and including techniques like Pediatric Tuina and Shonishin, two widely practiced non-insertive therapies.

My specialties include Women’s Health, Pain Management and both Geriatric and Pediatric Care. Acupuncture is so great at alleviating pain, restoring optimal health and function, post-injury or post-surgically, that the pursuit of pain relief brings most of my patients to me. In Oregon, when involved in a motor vehicle accident, no-fault laws provide coverage for acupuncture through Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance without a doctor referral (*check my Blog tab above, for How To Survive a Car Accident).

The research-proven benefits of acupuncture include the healing of diseased tissues, stress reduction, inflammation reduction, hormonal and neurologic regulation, improved sleep, digestion and energy. Autoimmune conditions (Hashimoto’s, IBD, MS, RA, scleroderma, etc) and other syndromes such as PCOS, fibromyalgia and CFS respond exceptionally well to Chinese Medicine therapies. Acupuncture and herbs are also phenomenal in treating female hormonal health, from the menstrual and fertility years, to pregnancy and postpartum phases, as well as the peri- and postmenopausal years. I take a special delight treating all ages of kids, who amazingly, are typically able to overcome issues from immune to behavioral problems fairly rapidly. My doctoral studies focus on geriatric health also boosted familiarity for me in the complexities of aging patients in general.
